About
Bellwether International is pleased to be launching the first ever international art contest for freedom of religion or belief in connection with this year's Ministerial in London, UK. The Ministerial to Advance Freedom of Religion or Belief is an annual conference for ministerial representatives and civil society working on the right to freedom of religion or belief, to discuss issues relating to freedom of religion or belief and the implementation of this human right. The 2022 Ministerial is hosted by the UK Parliament in London.

Submission Details

Categories
Bellwether International welcome artists from all over the world to submit under one of the two categories:
1- What does freedom of religion or belief mean to me?
2- Honoring the Yezidi People.
Three winners will be selected in each category for a total of six prize winners. The first-place prize in each category will have their art displayed permanently in UK Parliament (tbc) as a reminder of the importance of religious freedom and human dignity for all people.

Criteria
Two-Dimensional (2D) art in any form will be accepted and considered for the grand prize. Each piece will be judged on craftsmanship, content, and originality. Honorable mention awards will be highlighted on the website and as part of the Ministerial Conference in Parliament.

Timeline
DEADLINE EXTENDED: please continue to submit art until September 5, 2022. The first place prize winner in each category will be invited to attend the unveiling ceremony in UK Parliament in September.

Prizes
Three prize winners will be awarded in each category.
First Place: £2,000
Second Place: £1,500
Third Place: £1,000
Prize money will be redeemable through vouchers or can be donated to select charities working with refugees.
